HAVE A QUESTION?

Have a Question?

Martha’s Vineyard has several notable mid-century modern houses built by recognized architects at a time when the island, and especially "up-island", was transitioning from a mostly agricultural community to a summer home destination.

The year-round town of Vineyard Haven became home to two more Island residents last week, thanks to Tea Lane Associates!

Located directly opposite the entrance to lovely Lamberts Cove beach is this substantial 3,500 square foot family home. 6 bedroom with two first floor masters and 4 full bathrooms, a fabulous French country gourmet kitchen, large screened porch, two sunny patios, three fireplaces and a double garage. Built in 1910 and thoroughly modernized, with some of its original features, and a lovely open floor plan. Over 4 acres of landscaped garden plus long luxurious beach days and spectacular north shore sunsets are a 5 minute walk away.

This contemporary Chimark gem on Old Farm Road was built in 2000, using simple lines and with a great architectural aesthetic. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, fireplace, decks and a screened porch. The location is fabulous, right off Tea Lane with its miles of walking trails and nearby access to Lucy Vincent and Squibnocket Beaches. A great investment, for the lisitng price of $1,150,000 (March 2017) this would be a marvellous rental property.

This classic, elegant country home with water views, private pool, and nearby beach could be all you need for summer (or year round) living on Martha's Vineyard!

Whilst most of the island was on the school winter break Tea Lane was busy closing on properties up island.

A very welcome relief from the doldrums of winter is The Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival which comes around again this weekend. In its 17th year the Festival has evolved to become one of the highlights of the Vineyard calendar and by the looks of this weekend’s schedule we have some treats in store!

Amid total privacy and in a world of its own is this stunning South Mountain built home.  One reaches the property by way of a maintained dirt road situated off the Edgartown West Tisbury Road, between the Martha’s Vineyard Airport and West Tisbury.  The property is approximately 2 miles down, passing horse farms, ponds and woodland. After a short drive, one is rewarded with is this impeccably maintained, 3 bedroom 2 and a half bathroom waterfront home that sits on 6 private acres. Abutting the Long Point Wildlife Refuge with over 600 acres of protected conservation land, the property sits on a spit of land at the top of two of the “fingers” of the Tisbury Great Pond. The pond offers the opportunity to fish, swim, Kayak and paddleboard and opens out to the Atlantic Ocean beyond. This whole area is abundant with wildlife, birdlife and natural beauty. The property has mostly been used as a seasonal home, but would make an excellent year round home or investment/rental property.

MVYouth, a community fund founded in 2014, announced their 2017 Expansion Grant awards in January. They awarded $1,350,000 to two Island non-profits serving youth - the Martha’s Vineyard Ice Arena and Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary.

Happy Valentines Day! I guess it was love at first sight for the Tea Lane Associates' buyers who closed on this Chilmark home on February 2nd. This lovely contemporary farmhouse on Sheep Hill Road, off South Road, came on the market earlier in 2016 and closed for $1,700,000 last week. With 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms on 3.5 acres - some may remember it as the house that had the soccer pitch (the previous owners have a rising soccer star in the family!).
