Main House: Savor the seclusion sought by the many celebrities who call the Vineyard home. Built by Island artisans, this Craftsman-style 3-bedroom home is a private woodland getaway. Surrounded by 8 acres of meadows and woods, overlooking an open field of sweet fern, blueberry, and sumac, this elegant and gracious home at the end of a country dirt road offers a rare glimpse of the “Old Vineyard”—coastal chic in a scenic rural setting, not too far from town. The property borders conservation lands and is reached via some of the Vineyard’s famous Ancient Ways. Natural plantings around the house are discreetly punctuated by quirky stone and ceramic pieces. The top floor of this warm and welcoming home has a well-supplied open kitchen/dining area with tiled floor, a vaulted ceiling, and many windows for natural sunlight. The house is appointed throughout with momentos from the family's international travels and large-scale artwork, and is richly accented with wood floors and trim, and sliding glass doors at the garden level. There’s a top-floor bedroom (ground level) and two lower bedrooms (garden level). There are two tiled full baths (neither is a primary bathroom), and an outdoor shower luxuriously trellised in summer with trumpet vines (frequented by hummingbirds). The screened-in eating porch—the perfect place to watch the hummingbirds come and go—invites you to linger over coffee or a book.

Guest House:

An Old Vineyard “camp” lovingly updated as a guest cottage in 2023, in the historic, rural Red Coat Hill area, not too far from town. Surrounded by 8 acres of meadows and woods, across a field of sweet fern, blueberry, and sumac from the property’s main house. Coastal chic at the end of a country dirt road—one of the Vineyard’s famous Ancient Ways. The screened-in porch at the front of the house is perfect for feasts or quiet contemplation. The cottage has been freshly renovated with a new kitchen, 2 baths, and mini splits in all four rooms. The three bedrooms all have private outdoor entrances. The first-floor bedroom has two beds and is located across a slate-tiled breezeway from the main part of the house. On the second floor, the two additional bedrooms and bathroom are each accessible via private outdoor entrances off the deck. Note that the two upstairs bedrooms opening onto the deck are reached by a short flight of outdoor stairs. Tucked behind the house, a hammock invites you to engage in some relaxed forest bathing. Clean, tidy, quirky, and fun.

Several publicly accessible beaches are a short drive away. The property abuts the 77-acre Ripley’s Field Preserve, with a trailhead opening steps from the driveway, and offers immediate proximity to a further 283 acres of Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank holdings, threaded by well-maintained trails for hiking, biking, and nature study. (Tisbury Meadow Preserve, Little Duarte's Pond Preserve, Wompesket Preserve, and Blackwater Pond Reservation).
