There is one en-suite bedroom on the first floor, plus two additional bedrooms on the second floor accessed via a spiral staircase. Comfortably sleeping 8 people with extra sleeping space. Upstairs, you will find a large primary bedroom suite with a king bed, couch, a TV, refrigerator and sink, a desk with a view. There’s also a small loft space with a queen sofa-bed, full bathroom, (with glass shower) and balcony looking over Katama Farm fields and the ocean beyond. The second upstairs bedroom has twin trundle beds and an adjacent full bath (with glass shower).
Head into Edgartown for dinner or create a great meal at home in the compact kitchen. Fire up the big Weber grill and grill up your haul from the fishing that day or the provisions you picked up at Morning Glory Farm, The Farm Institute, or Edgartown Meat & Fish, all close by.
After your sunset cocktail, there's a big ten person dining table on the deck for alfresco dining and there's usually a nice breeze off the ocean.
AC is provided by mini splits, and there is a bonus sun room for indoor dining or family game night. The garage will be set up for all your cloudy day summer fun activities ...with ping pong table, sofas, and flat-screen TV providing great additional recreational space. There is a nice big level front yard for a game of catch, badminton, croquet, or other outdoor games.
This is a perfect Edgartown location close to South Beach, where you can relax or venture to Norton Point. If you're up for a good workout in the morning, walk, run, or bike down to the bike path about 300 yards from the house. The loop up to South Beach along Atlantic Drive and back down to Katama Airfield and the house is about three and a half miles. Stop at the diner and grab yourself a coffee or have the family meet you there. . Watch the bi-planes take off and land as you have breakfast. The diner is about a quarter of a mile from the house and is a nice walk down a dirt road through the farm.
This is a casual home, the owners goal was to create a place to enjoy being outside, to enjoy family time with games, activities, and a place to chill, to enjoy being a part of Katama and the Farm Institute and all the things that Katama has to offer, to have an inside that is casual and relaxed that offers several places to sit and watch your favorite movie, on one of three smart TV’s, have a conversation, play a board game, or read, and for those that might have to stay connected to work, a place to get away and do a Zoom call. You're only 2.5 miles to downtown Edgartown for a stroll and shopping, a nice dinner, a concert at the Old Whaling Church, or an ice cream with the kids.
