THE CAPAWOCK THEATRE OPENING
Friday evening, May 29th, the Capawock opened to an excited and grateful collection of folks, many of whom generously contributed to this passionate cause. The roomy seats and newly painted walls gave this familiar space a an open and fresh feeling. People were excited to experience the theatre that they had so many fond memories of in its current fabulous state.
This positive energy synergized when Carly Simon ascended the stage. She was glowing and happy to be the first performer and brought Ben, Sally and her band to perform and reminisce to the audience’s delight. Carly and Ben integrated family stories and silly memories into their music and banter, making it all feel as if we were at a speak-easy or in someone’s living room. This was the perfect initiation of the CAPAWOCK- intimate and welcoming bridging Tisbury’s past and present. This is another very good sign of the season…
