HAVE A QUESTION?

Have a Question?

7am on a chilly sunday Halloween morning at the Steamship Authority terminal and a crowd of bleary eyed MV high schoolers gathered to board the “Nantucket”, which had been chartered by the school to take teams from Soccer, Field Hockey and Football across the sound to our rival island to play for the Island Cup.

Polly Hill Arboretum, our West Tisbury neighbor has appointed Selena Roman to the Board of Directors.  A perfect addition to the Board, Selena not only lives within a stones throw of the Arboretum, and can often be seen enjoying its 70 plus acres,  she has a keen interest in protecting the ponds and waterways and nature around West Tisbury.

When everyone was planning their summer vacation 2020, no one could have predicted or planned for the situation we are now facing due to Covid 19.  Unfortunately many Vineyard summer events have been cancelled, but SUMMER IS NOT CANCELLED  - its just going to look a little different this year!

April 22nd is Earth Day and where better to enjoy it than on beautiful Martha's Vineyard?

As the name suggests this inn and restaurant sits at the western end of Martha’s Vineyard, in the shadow of the famous Gay Head Lighthouse. You might think it's far, but it's so worth the drive, even in the winter and maybe more so when you get to experience the island in it's quiet un-touristy glory.  South Road takes you through Chilmark and as the road gets close to the ocean you are rewarded with beautiful water views and glimpses of maginifcent summer homes that are usually shielded from view by the trees.    Once you get to Aquinnah you realize why you came -  quiet roads, miles of unspoilt beaches and magnificent views like no other on the Vineyard  - its a real feeling of escape from it all.

After over 30 years producing chocolates and sweet treats for the island, Chilmark Chocolates will close its doors for good on December 18th 2019. They announced the close earlier this year and now the time has actually come.

April 8th and temperatures on Martha's Vineyard reached the 60's this past weekend giving us a teaser and taste of summer days to come.  Supporters were peeling off the layers at the various Spring sports games across the island on Saturday,  restaurants are re-opening and revealing new decor and delicious menus, daffodils are starting to bloom and the garden centers are starting to get stocked up for Easter as year round residents start to come out of hibernation or return from winter travels to open up their homes

Our dear friend and colleague, Jennifer Gardner, passed away peacefully on New Year’s Day 2019, surrounded by her family and loved ones.   She touched our lives profoundly and we are grateful for the time we had with her, the opportunity to work alongside her, to experience her generosity and her wisdom and to share our lives together.  We will miss her greatly and we are sending our love and heartfelt condolences to her whole family especially to her mother Leila, her brother Stewart, and her children Griffin and Leila.
