Sun-soaked scenic beaches, such as South Beach, Katama, Moshup Beach and Menemsha are ready for you and your family to explore. Enjoy swimming, surfing, sunbathing, building sandcastles or just soak up the sun on the warm golden sand. South Beach is considered one of the best beaches on the island, with its inviting surf and rolling dunes. Moshup Beach offers stunning views of the colorful clay and sandstone that compose the Aquinnah Cliffs, or if you prefer, enjoy the famous sunset or watch the fishing boats return to port from Menemsha Beach.

Martha’s Vineyard is known for its historic lighthouses, such as Edgartown Lighthouse which includes a museum, the East Chop Lighthouse overlooking Vineyard Haven Harbor and Gay Head Lighthouse which sits atop the Aquinnah Cliffs. Offering camera-ready panoramic views of Martha’s Vineyard and the surrounding waters, these lighthouses have been guiding ships home for centuries.   The Martha's Vineyard Museum operates the East Chop and Edgartown Lighthouses.  The Town of Aquinnah offer tours at the Gay Head Lighthouse

Many people like to visit Martha's Vineyard at the beginning of summer for the 4th of July parade in Edgartown or for the third week of August when the Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Fair is held in West Tisbury and when Oak Bluffs hosts Illumination Night in the Campgrounds and the end of summer firework extravaganza over the water in Ocean Park.

In September fishermen and women flock to the Vineyard shores for the Striped Bass and Blue Fish Derby. We have written about this in our blog here.
