It was a beautiful day to celebrate the summer solstice in Aquinnah at the Light House. Young and old, human and canine, up-islanders and down-islanders gathered to enjoy the longest day of the year and remind ourselves of how important it is to help SAVE THE GAY HEAD LIGHTHOUSE.
The sun set, cliffs and ocean were beyond spectacular….be it from ground level or the observation area of the lighthouse. Climbing the Light House to the top was an exhilarating part of the evening.
There was hooping and snacking and some great music…Goodnight Louise performed.
And the pizza made by Orange Peel Bakery was delicious as always….so were the locally grown oysters by Jimmy Sanfillipo…
It is clear that the Gay Head Light House is an important piece of our Island History and deserves to be protected for the benefit of all of Martha’s Vineyard.
